Welcome to CoolShinyStuff — a website dedicated to finding and featuring the most interesting, innovative and genuinely useful products on the market. We're not a traditional review site. We don't accept payment for coverage, we don't do listicles for the sake of clicks, and we don't pretend that every product we write about is the best thing since sliced bread.

Our Philosophy

We started CoolShinyStuff because we were frustrated. Everywhere we looked online, product recommendations were either thinly veiled advertisements or generated by AI tools scraping Amazon listings. Real human recommendations — from people who'd actually used the stuff — were getting buried.

So we built something different. A place where our team of product enthusiasts, tech writers and bargain hunters curates the stuff worth knowing about. We test things ourselves when we can, and when we can't, we tell you honestly what we don't know.

What Makes Us Different

Three things guide everything we publish:

• Honesty above all. If a product is mediocre, we say so. If there's a better alternative, we mention it. Our revenue doesn't depend on what we recommend.
• Practicality over hype. We care less about announcement-day specs and more about what actually works in real life. Does the battery last? Is the interface usable? Will you still care about this in six months?
• Value at every price point. You don't need to spend $1,000 to get something great. We find good stuff at every price, and we'll never pretend otherwise.

The Team

CoolShinyStuff is run by a small, obsessive group of people who spend too much time reading product forums, watching teardowns and comparing specs at 11 PM. We come from backgrounds in tech journalism, e-commerce, product design and electrical engineering. We're collectively responsible for more impulse purchases than we'd like to admit.
